Details about Muhammad Rakibul Islam

Short Biography

Dr. Muhammad Rakibul Islam is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed his Ph.D. in Physics from University of Central Florida (UCF), USA in May 2015. In his PhD, he worked on the fabrication of the carbon nanotube and 2D materials (more specifically, Graphene and MoS2) based nano-electronic devices and study their electron transport properties. Prior to this, Dr. Rakib completed his Masters in Physics in 2011 from the same institution (UCF, USA). He received his B.Sc. Degree in Physics from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He also received an M. Phil. degree in physics from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 2009.

Dr. Rakib's current research interests is two-fold:

i) Synthesis of nano-materials and fabrication of nanodevices for energy and environment applications.

ii) Synthesis of nanostructured thin films for solar cell and sensing applications.

So far Dr. Rakib has published 15 peer reviewed international journals (300+ citation and his total impact factor of published journals has crossed 40) and one US patent.
