Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam works in this area. Research is concentrated mainly in the field of Satellite Meteorology, Radar Meteorology, Monsoon Meteorology and Tropical Cyclone. He was involved in "Japan-Bangladesh Joint Study Project" Phase II, Topic-I, Meteorology Section for investigating rainfall characteristics and diurnal variation of rainfall in Indian Subcontinent. The project was funded by Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA). He is also involved in a "Monbusho" project with Disaster Prevention Research Institute (DPRI), Kyoto University; funded by Grant Aid of Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport in Japanese Government, Japan, for investigating cause of natural disaster like flood in this region. He is currently involved in a colaboration research with HyARC, Nagoya University for the stutistical studies on the characteristics of precipitation in and around Bangladesh. The project is funded by TRMM A4. He is also using RegCM3 under APN project to obtain the climatic scenario in this region.
